Norman Gene Easter

June 17, 1929 — December 2, 2013

Norman Eugene (Gene) Easter, of Sullivan, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Sullivan County Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. Gene was born in rural Sullivan County on June 17, 1929 to Jerd and Gratis Easter. He was a farmer his entire life, Gene served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sullivan Elks and the American Legion and served on the Island Levee Board. Gene married Salle McCoskey on July 31, 1954, who was the love of his life. Salle preceded him in death on March 5, 1982.

Gene is survived by two children, Dr. Sue (Michael) Idczak of Toledo, OH, and Ed (Debbie) Easter of Sullivan. Gene is also survived by one grandchild, Quinn Easter of Irvine, CA. Gene loved life, his family, his farm, and he thoroughly enjoyed every day.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday December 6, 2013, at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev Eric Blevins officiating. Visitation will be Thursday December 5th, from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery.
