O Dean Mccammon

O. Dean McCammon, 73, of Grand Island FL, and Carlisle IN, passed away on Wednesday February 14, 2018 at Florida Hospital Waterman, in Tavares FL. He was born in Linton IN on March 16, 1944 to Oscar Otto McCammon and Delores June (McCammon) McCammon. He was a 1963 graduate from Shortridge High School, Indianapolis, had become a welder for US Steel in Gary IN, retired from there and went on to the Department of Corrections for the State of IN. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Michigan City, Scottish Rite, Shrine, and the Odd Fellows in Carlisle. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Paul, Greg, sister Patty Sharp and a grandson James Dean McCammon.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Carol (Inman) McCammon whom he married on March 30, 1963, a son Oscar D. and wife Melody McCammon, and a brother John Bartholomew, sister in-law Jeannie Cabell.

Services will be at 11:00a.m., on Monday February 26, 2018 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Brewer officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6:00p.m. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery. The family suggest that if friend so desire memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
