Paul Wayne Wolfe

Paul Wayne Wolfe, 82, of Sullivan, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, with his loving family at his side. Paul was born October 6, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan. He was one of three sons born to Garland and Dorothy Faulk Wolfe May. Paul was a graduate of Sullivan High School, Class of 1959. He married his loving wife of 62 years, Rita Grabbe Wolfe, in August 1961.

Paul was a well respected and widely known barber in Sullivan County for 41 years. Paul and Don’s Barber Shop is where he met and befriended many over the years. He also was a bus driver for Southwest School Corporation for 37 years, where he greeted the children with a smile and kindness every morning and evening while driving the route. He enjoyed several trips to various athletic events, driving the players, cheerleaders, and coaches. He left a lasting impression on many over the years with his kindness.  Paul, above all, was a loving and cherished family man. He enjoyed time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-granddaughter, nieces, and nephews.

Those gone before him are his parents, brothers Harry Wolfe and Don Wolfe, stepfather Ike May.

Those left with lifetime memories to cherish are his wife, Rita Wolfe; daughters Tammy Wall and Karen (Jeff) Lawson; niece Shawna Beard and special friend Kevin; nephew Jeff Wolfe. Grandchildren, Danielle (Craig) Roady, Johnna Wall-Miller and special friend Adam, Brandon Wall and fiancée Julie, Lynsey Vollett, Kyle (Kelsy) Lawson. Great-nieces and nephews, Tyler (Katie) Beard, Taryn (John) Hathaway. Paul’s great-grandchildren, Colton (Alex) Roady, Desiree’ Roady, Hanna Roady, Cheyanne Miller, Michael Vollett, Matthew Wall, Olivia Lawson, and Aliana Ruiz. Great nieces and nephews, Renley, Eli and Amelia Beard, Archer Hathaway and Paul’s great-great-granddaughter, Evangeline Roady.

Services for Paul will be held at Holmes Memorial Chapel on Saturday June 22, 2024. Visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Service immediately following with Pastor David Cox. The family requests the interment at Center Ridge Cemetery be family only. In lieu of flowers, the family requests, if you so wish, memorial donations be made to the Sullivan High School Athletic fund in Paul’s honor.
