Pauline Reed

Pauline (Stevenson) Reed, 91, of Shelburn, IN passed away on April 2, 2018 at Sullivan County Community Hospital. She was born in Shelburn on July 12, 1926 to Harold Stevenson and Chloe (Hill) Stevenson. Pauline was a proud graduate of the class of 1944 at Shelburn High School. In 1948, Pauline married Steven Reed of Sullivan and they were happily married for over 67 years. Steven preceded her in death in 2016. Pauline was employed at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for many years during the early part of their marriage. Pauline was a lifelong member of the Shelburn First Christian Church, where she served as treasurer and pianist for many years. She was very active in the community, having been involved as a long-time member of the Psi Iota Xi sorority, Evening Belles Home Economics Club, Sullivan Elks Auxiliary, Shelburn Order of the Eastern Star and numerous bunco, bridge and euchre clubs. Pauline was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Noah Stevenson.

Survivors include a daughter Shelley (Randy) Nichols of Sullivan, IN; her son Brad (Corrine) Reed of Carmel, IN; and five grandchildren: Tyler Nichols, Ashley (Bryce) Bement, Alane (Kyle) O'Neal, Andrea Nichols and Andrew Reed.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Reverend Joseph LaFollette officiating. Visitation will be on Friday 4-8:00p.m. and Saturday from 11:00a.m. until the time of services. The family suggests if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Shelburn First Christian Church. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg.
