Phyllis Ilene Banks

Phyllis Ilene Banks, 78, of Sullivan passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Brownsburg Meadows assisted living. She was born in Hymera on February 21, 1938 to Thomas Hugh Blevens and Doris Maxine (Branson) Blevens. Phyllis was a 1956 graduate of Hymera High School, was a member of the First Christian Church of Sullivan, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary # 139. She had been employed at Gossards, Columbia House Records, Wonder Bread Thrift Store and assisted her late husband in their family funeral business. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Jerry Banks in 2007, her son Jeffery Alan Banks in 1985, two infant daughters and a sister Judy Cummins.

Survivors include her two daughters Patricia (Harold) Morgan of Carlisle, Jolene (Mark) Mason of Sullivan, a sister Dorothy Maynard of Evansville, two grandchildren Devon (Kelsey) Mason Plainfield, and Nicole Morgan of Carlisle.

Services for Phyllis will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Norman Santus officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take be at Center Ridge Cemetery. The family suggest that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
