Graysville

Listen to Obituary

Priscilla VanSant, 81, of Graysville, answered the sweet call of Jesus to come home, my good and faithful servant, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Serenity Springs Health Care. She began her life journey on September 30,1945 in Point Pleasant, WV. Priscilla was one of 6 children born to the late, James and Elizabeth Hayes. She was a graduate of Sullivan High School. She married her life partner, Robert “Bob” VanSant on August 20, 1965. They loved life together hand in hand until his death in 2019. Their life together was anchored in deep faith and family. She was a devoted member of Emmanuel E.M. Church serving others for many years.

Priscilla was a unique person in her own right. She loved big and with all her heart, always rooting for the underdog in any situation. She loved all who passed through her doors, home or business. Many recognize her as owner and operator of Goodie House Pizza for 20 years. You would find her always with a warm smile and welcoming heart. Her larger than life personality was evident to all in her presence. She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching Colts, I.U.and Notre Dame to name a few. She also loved golf and was an avid fitness fan, running 5 Ks and enjoying classes at the Fitness Center. You could find her in her spare time watching GunSmoke and Hallmark Christmas movies. She also enjoyed shopping, notably shoe, coat and bargain rack shopping.

Priscilla was the true “Matriarch” of the family. Her heart was one of giving, she was a caregiver to those she loved. Always making sure everyone was taken care of before herself. She enjoyed hosting holidays and family gatherings, where many fond memories were made around her table. Her passing leaves a void that will be impossible to fill nevertheless, the love she so deeply etched in the hearts she so loved will forever remain.

Those awaiting her Heavenly arrival are her parents; husband , Robert “Bob” VanSant; siblings, Larry Hayes and Margaret Jividen.

Those here to cherish her memory are her children, Jason VanSant (Jennifer), Tina Abrams (Brad), and Tammy Bell (Joe); siblings, James Hayes (Kathy), Boyd Hayes (Sharon) and Butch Hayes ( Debbie); sister in-law, Linda Hayes; grandchildren, Cari Hill (Forrest), Caleb Abrams (Amelia), Ashley Arnett (Logan), Morgan Bell, Jaydon VanSant (Morgan), Christian Smith (Stella); great-grandchildren, Kyler, Layla, Bennett, Mavyn, Rylan, Weston, and Annalise.

Along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to, Serenity Springs and Heart to Heart Hospice for the tender loving care that was showered on Priscilla while in there care.
