Raymod Kerns

Raymond Ernest Kerns, 80, of Hymera passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Kindred Transitional Care Southwood, in Terre Haute. He was born in Terre Haute on September 21, 1933 to Ernest and Ilene (Wagner) Kerns. He was a 1952 graduate of Gerstmeyer and a honorably discharged Korean War Veteran, having served in the Army and Navy, had worked at Stran Steel as a welder, and was a member of the Hymera First Baptist Church. Preceding him in death are his parents, a sister Donna Isaacs, and step son Michael Goffinet. Survivors include his wife of 55 years Madonna Rose Cummins Kerns, whom he married on September 4, 1958, sons Timothy (Donna) Kerns of Terre Haute, Bradley Kerns of Hymera, step sons, David (Linda) Goffinet of Martinsville, Mark Sr. (Karen) Goffinet of Terre Haute, step daughter Debbie (David) Rottmann of Terre Haute, brothers Noel Kerns of Terre Haute, Larry Kerns of Chala Vista CA, Donald Kerns of Inglewood OH, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A memorial service for Raymond will be held on Saturday April 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hymera Baptist Church in Hymera. Burial will take place in Bushnell National Cemetery in Bushnell FL. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Fifth Third Bank, 201 Washington St. Sullivan IN 47882, in care of Madonna Kerns.
