He was a long time member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 841 and was employed by S&G Excavating until his retirement in 2002. Since that time he enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, hanging with his friends, especially his friends from the Riverview Club, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bob Arnett and his sister Sharon Jones. He is survived by his wife of 54 years and the love of his life, Judie Arnett; his children Ginger (Eddie) Fifer of Farmersburg, Indiana, Gevan (Holly) Arnett of Brownsburg, Indiana, and Gina Arnett Thompson of Avon, Indiana; his grandsons Seth Fifer, Jayden Thompson, and Mason Thompson; his sisters Linda Bogard of Merom, Indiana, Esther Arnett of Merom Station, Indiana, and Sally Maxwell of Sullivan, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Due to current restrictions on gatherings, a private family graveside service will be held at Pogue Cemetery and supported by Holmes Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Norman Santus officiating. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
