Richard “Rick” Jewett, 70, of Hymera, passed away on Tuesday April 26, 2022, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in West Point, New York on September 15, 1951 to Charles Jewett and Mary Lou (Lane) Jewett. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 grandchildren. He was a 1969 graduate of North Central High School. Rick was a self employed owner and operator of Jewett Printing for over 33 years. After retirement he worked odd jobs at at Green Turtle Bay Marina and loved every second of it.
His favorite past time was being on Kentucky Lake on his sailboat for the last 20 years. He enjoyed cleaning local boats and being a mister fix it around the marina and the town. He loved the people he had worked for. He had also set up a small workshop at home and spent so much time helping his grandson learn the art. He was always a wealth of knowledge. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Tamara (Curry) Jewett, son Chris (Crystal) Daves, daughter Jamie (Randy) Phegley, grandchildren Branden Daves, Lane Phegley, Reese Phegley, step grandchildren, Alyssa (Ace) Danko, Dalton (Cassidy) Will, four great grandchildren, and several other family and friends.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. with services held at 7:00 p.m. at Holmes Memorial Chapel on Saturday April 30, 2022. Burial will take place at Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg. If friends so desire, flowers or cards may be sent to Tamara Jewett PO Box 538, Hymera IN 47855.
