Richard Knowles

Richard L. Knowles, 71, of Hymera went home to be with his Jesus at 2:40a.m. in Terre Haute Union Hospital, on April 26, 2015. He was born March 28, 1944 in Linton, IN. to Garland and Sarah Ackerman Knowles. Survivors include his wife Kathryn M. Dean Knowles, sister Anna Marie Knowles McKinney, sons Dennis R. Knowles of North Carolina, Darren L. Knowles of Sullivan, Thomas J. Knowles of Florida and seven grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents, and a brother Ralph James Knowles. Rick was a member, and deacon, of Hymera 1st Baptist Church, Hymera Masonic Lodge #588, Hymera American Legion Post #298, Sullivan Elks, and a active member of the American Legion Color Guard. There will be memorial service at Hymera 1st Baptist Church at 6:00pm Wednesday, April 29, 2015 with Pastor Larry Ricketts officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00p.m. until the service time: Also, the Hymera Masonic Lodge and American Legion Posts from Shelburn, Hymera, and Sullivan along with the Sullivan Co. VFW will have a memorial tribute to Rick.
