Rita Sue (Frakes) Thomas

Rita S. Frakes Thomas, 70, of Farmersburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 in the comfort of her home. She was born on November 26,1954 to Donald and Polly Frakes.

Rita married her life partner on February 18, 1972 they walked the path of life together for 53 years. She enjoyed playing softball and fishing. She was outgoing and kind to all she met.Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren. Her loving caring heart made her easy to love. She enjoyed spoiling her great- grandchildren at any cost. She was never one to be shy and would share her opinion and was known to be a bit stubborn at times. She was devoted to her family.  Her memory will be in the hearts of those who loved her eternally.

Rita was preceded by her parents; siblings, Jimmy Frakes, Larry Frakes, Terry Frakes, Linda Frakes and Vickie Frakes.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, James Thomas; daughters, Christina and Jay Elkins, Parrish FL. and Angie Thomas Arnett of Sullivan, IN.; granddaughter, Erica and Jordan Bell of Sullivan, bonus granddaughter, Myyka Monroe, Parrish FL.; great granddaughters, Kenzie and Gracie Bell; siblings, Jane Hendrickson, Cathy Frakes and Bill Frakes; several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Services will be on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Holmes Memorial Chapel, at 1:00 pm., with visitation from 11:00 am. until time of service. Pastor Don Ransford will officiate.

Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery.
