Robert Hoke “Bob” Koenig, 86, a lifelong resident of Carlisle , slipped into eternity in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born at home on September 28,1938, one of 3 sons, to the late Norman and Helen Hoke Koenig. He was a graduate of Carlisle High School and member of Carlisle Odd Fellows #3. He was a retired postal carrier and farmer. He married his loving wife, Laura Bedwell on January 22, 1982.
Bob was well known for his love of exotic animals. He enjoyed attending exotic animal auctions and adding to his menagerie. His farm included buffalo, ankole-watusi and miniature donkeys to name a few. He was a hard working, kind and loving family man, with a great sense of humor. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. His hard work ethic was with him until the end. He was still bailing hay and feeding livestock on his beloved farm.
