Robert Bob Mcclure Sr

Robert E "Bob" McClure Sr., 77, of Sullivan passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes; He was born in Bruceville, IN on June 2, 1937 to Clarence and Julia Nash McClure. Bob was a 1955 graduate of Bruceville High School, served in the United States Marine Corps, and became an Indiana State Police Trooper on July 1, 1961. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Sullivan, had been a member of the Rotary Club, Optimist Club, Apple Club, Fraternal Order of Police, ISP Alliance, ISP Scuba Team, and the ISP Explosive Ordinance Team. Bob Retired in 1990 from the ISP after 29 years of service, retiring as a Lieutenant District Commander, in the Terre Haute Post. Bob had also served as the Director of the Sullivan Housing Authority until 1997. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters Norma Lynch and Helen Davis, and two brothers Charles McClure and Edward McClure. Survivors include his wife of 57 years Marjorie Kinman McClure whom he married on March 16, 1957, she was the love of his life, best friend, companion and soulmate, a son Robert "Bob" McClure Jr and his wife Becky of Danville IN, a sister Carol Sue Merry of Vincennes, grandchildren Scott (Lindsey) McClure, Matthew (Ashley) McClure, and great grandchildren Kayla McClure, Moira McClure. Services for Robert will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday January 22, 2015 with Revs. Dale Wise and David Cox officiating at Holmes Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8:00 p.m. Honor Guard will be provided by the Indiana State Police, military services will be given by the Hymera, Shelburn, Sullivan American Legions, and the Sullivan VFW. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Vincennes.
