Robert Kent Taylor, 84, of Graysville, was reunited with loved one's on Friday, May 1, 2026 with his loving family at his side. He began his life journey on August 26,1941 in Nitro, West Virginia, one of 5 sons of the late Monty and Ruth Taylor.

He proudly served his country in both the United States Army and Navy. Kent was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He married his life partner, Linda Wandling, on June 10,1966. Spending 60 years of loving life and family together. He was a Mechanical Engineer, who was a dedicated part of the American Electric Power Company, better known as AEP for 30 years. Along with his work, he and Linda transferred to many different places, making each one home and settling in. Upon his retirement he was the current Plant Manager, for the Indiana Michigan Breed Plant

Hunting and fishing were a big part of who Kent was, he enjoyed hunting, turkey and deer to name just a few. He was an avid fisherman, and his shop could be described as a huge tackle box. He was never one to be idle so his engineering mind was always turning. He could figure out how to build and fix anything. His shop was where he enjoyed spending time, he kept it meticulously organized, knowing where everything was and if it had been moved. He very much enjoyed working in his yard.

Above all he was a devoted, loving family man, who cherished every minute spent with family. His family was his pride and joy. His quiet, joking manner was shown in abundance to those he loved. He was one to graciously nick name everyone. His grandchildren were treasured beyond measure. Papa was the title he was so very proud to be called. He leaves behind a legacy for his family to proudly carry on.

Those gone before him are his parents, along with siblings, Monty Samuel Taylor II, James Lawrence Taylor, Jerry Wayne Taylor and David Lee Taylor.

Those here to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Linda Wandling Taylor; children, Kelly Weatherholt, of Tell City, Indiana and Jody Richard (James Hall), of Tell City, Indiana; grandchildren, Kaci Weatherholt, of Denver, Colorado, Colton Weatherholt, of Reo,Indiana and Jacob Hall, of Tell City, Indiana; brother in-law, Danny Wandling (Brenda), of Red House, West Virginia, along with several nieces, nephews, special neighbors and friends.

Services to celebrate a life well lived will be on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Holmes Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm. until time of service at 5:00 pm with Pastor Erich Blevins officiating. Sullivan County Honor Guard will lead with Military Funeral Honors. Burial will be on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 1:00 pm. in Greenwood Cemetery, Tell City, Indiana.
