Robert Wayne "Bob" Thompson, 54, of Merom, went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2013 at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis. Bob was born in Sullivan Co. on May 13, 1959 to Bruce and Nancy L. Monroe Thompson. He was a 1977 graduate of Sullivan High School, had worked for and was a member of the Operating Engineers' Local 841 for many years, a Licensed Minister, member of the Southwest Indiana walk of Emmaus, a member of the Followers of Christ Baptist Church. Bob was preceded in death by his Mother Nancy and a nephew Casey Drake.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years Marla Gadberry Thompson whom he married on December 9, 1977, his father Bruce Thompson, a son Josh Thompson of Merom, a daughter Ashlee Thompson and her fiance Kris DeMyer of Merom, a sister Angie Wilson and her husband Larry of Sullivan and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at the Followers of Christ Baptist Church, 2766 E State Rd 58 just 3 mile outside of Carlisle, on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Glenn Archer officiating. Visitation will be at the Holmes Memorial Chapel on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. Burial will take place at Merom Cemetery.
