Rodger Dale Wright, 64, of Sullivan passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2015 with his family and friends by his side. He was born on July 10, 1950 in Sullivan to James Wright and Gwendolyn Josephine Donovan Wright. Rodger was a 1969 graduate of Sullivan High School, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a self-employed truck driver for many years, and also did construction work and enjoyed cutting wood. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion Post 139 and also a member of the V.F.W. Post 2459 Men's Auxiliary.
Rodger is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Brian and J.L. Wright. He is survived by his children, Bobby Wright, Cheryl Wright, and his sister Tina Hale (Charlie) of Merom, grandchildren, Brooklyn Sandifer and Kyra Sandifer, Rylie Wright, two nieces, Shauna Coulson, Terri Jo Priest, and is also survived by a special friend that he called Hound Dog.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Holmes Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Farnsworth Cemetery on Monday, June 29, 2015. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am until time of service.
There will be a celebration of life at the Sullivan American Legion on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 6:00p.m.
