Ruby Richardson

Ruby Richardson, 101, of Terre Haute and formally of Sullivan, passed away on May 16, 2015 at Union Hospital. She was born in Paxton on February 18, 1914 to Frank and Lura Snider McCombs. Ruby was a 1933 graduate of Sullivan High School and became a Nurses Aid for Mary Sherman Hospital and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church, a member of the Sullivan Eastern Star, enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, and making dolls. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William R. Richardson in 1978, a son in-law Robert Leavitt, brother Robert McCombs, step brothers John, Jack and Fred Cottingham, sisters, Bonnie Taylor, Maud Riggs, Millicent McCombs, and step sister, Ruth Mackey.

Survivors include her daughter Billie Leavitt of Terre Haute, her son Robert (Grace) Richardson of Indianapolis, half brother Malcolm McCombs of New Port Richie FL, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and twelve great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services for Ruby will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday May 23, 2015 at Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan with Rev. Dale Wise Officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery.
