Ruth E. Metcalf

Ruth E. Metcalf, 100, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Monday, September 16, 2025 at The Waters of Sullivan. Ruth was born on October 24,1924 in Sullivan, Indiana the daughter of Orville and Lula Brown Wesner. She married John Metcalf on October 5, 1945. Ruth and her husband John owned and operated Metcalf Body Shop in Sullivan, Indiana for several years. She was a long time member of the State Street Church of Christ.

Ruth is preceded by her parents, her husband, John in 2020 along with a granddaughter, Kristin McKain and daughter in-law, Ramona Metcalf.

Survivors include two sons, Bob Metcalf (Bonnie) of Sullivan, Indiana and Mike Metcalf (Verna) of Sullivan, Indiana, two daughters, Rita McKain (Brad) of Terre Haute, Indiana and Terri Gadberry (Jim) of Sullivan, Indiana, eleven grandchildren; Julie Wagers (Todd) , Jennifer Rupprecht (Travis), Katie Ketter (Brian), Hollie Metcalf, Kaylan DuPre (Dr. Matt), Sarah Litz (Brandon), J.R. McKain (Elizabeth), Jamie Wilson (J.D.), Kacie Brooks (Tim), Taylor Woodard (Matt) and Delaney Hennecke (Logan) along with 21 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan, Indiana . With visitation from 11:00 AM until time of service. Pastor Todd Gotshall will officiate. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana.
