Sandra Ficklin

Sandra Louise Weathers Ficklin, 86, of Sullivan, IN, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 in her residence.

Sandra was born March 13, 1934, in Petersburg, IN, to W.B.  “Hop” Weathers and Margaret E. Bamberger Weathers.  She was a longtime member of Sullivan First Christian Church where she worked in the baby nursery during Sunday School for many years.  Sandra was a graduate of Petersburg High School.  She worked at Roots store in Sullivan and retired from Anita and Friends.  Sandra, “Sandy” enjoyed bunco, bridge, bowling, and bingo.  Drinking coffee with friends and spending time with family were things she especially enjoyed.  She always had a funny story that would make everyone laugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Ida McConnell.  She is survived by her loving husband and true love of sixty-seven years,  Donald Ficklin, whom she married on February 26, 1954.  She is survived by a daughter, Debra Olson (Michael) of Sullivan, and two sons, Mark (Tina) Ficklin and Tom (Vicki) Ficklin, of Sullivan; six grandchildren, Lisa (Fred) Norton, of Terre Haute, Trent (Emilie) Olson, Addisson (Troy) Pearison of Sullivan, Donivan (Caitlin) Ficklin of Indianapolis, Solomon Ficklin of Jacksonville, FL, and Kale (Mickala) Ficklin of Sullivan, IN; and seven great grandchildren, Paige and Jacob Norton, Griffin and Ava Olson, Renley and Riggs Pearison, and Tatum Ficklin.  She is also survived by a brother Thomas (Lois) Weathers of Michigan and several nieces and nephews as well as many extended family members and friends.

Services will be at 1PM on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021, at The First Christian Church with Pastor David Cox officiating.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11AM until the time of services.  Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery.  Services have been entrusted to Holmes Memorial Chapel.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to Sullivan First Christian Church.  Envelopes will be available at the church.
