Sandra Lea Lowry, born Sandra Lea Rinard on April 13, 1949, in Sullivan, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026. She lived a life marked by dedication, love, and a passionate spirit that touched the hearts of many around her.
Sandra devoted much of her career to home health care, where her compassion and commitment to helping others were deeply felt. Her professional life was an extension of the nurturing person she was in her family and community.
Sandra cherished her family above all else. She was a devoted mother who could be found at countless children’s sporting events, always cheering on her beloved kids with genuine enthusiasm. She treasured every opportunity to celebrate, always relishing moments to get dressed up and enjoy a special event. Among her unique aspirations was a passion for storm chasing, reflecting her adventurous spirit and curiosity about the natural world.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life; she was a committed Christian and attended New Beginnings Depot Downtown, where she found strength and fellowship. She also enjoyed quiet moments with word search books, a pastime that spoke to her thoughtful nature and love of mental challenge.
Sandra is lovingly remembered by her daughters Tonja Witvoet and Stacey Criss, who carry forward her legacy of love and support. She is survived by her brothers Robert Rinard and Charles Rinard; her sister-in-law Terri Rinard, and her grandchildren Ethan Witvoet, Riley Witvoet (Kelcie), Andrew Criss (Becky), Cami Witvoet, and her great-grandchildren Hyli Venmand (Witvoet), Kaden Witvoet, Ryker Witvoet, Benton Fortner, Lyric Rodriquez, Graclynn Witvoet, Rowen Witvoet, Oaklan Witvoet, River Witvoet, and Lily Jane Witvoet, as well as several nieces and nephews all carry forward her spirit and memory with love.
She was preceded in death by her parents Beryl Rinard and Agnes McClure Rinard, her brothers Larry Rinard, Lenny Rinard, and Denny Rinard, her sister-in-law Ann Rinard; sister Patricia Mason, and grandchild Michael Witvoet and and great grandchild Ryland Witvoet. These loved ones, now departed, remain forever in the hearts of those who knew Sandra.
Sandra Lea Lowry’s life was one of warmth, dedication, and heartfelt connections. Her legacy will live on in the stories shared by her family, the lives she touched through her work, and the cherished memories held by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered, a woman whose love and zest for life made a lasting impact on the world around her.
