Sandra K. McKinley of Sullivan, peacefully slipped into the arms of Jesus, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Those she cherished surrounding her. She entered this life on July 11, 1939 in Farnsworth, born one of 7 children to Edgar R. and Mary Louise Sanders.
She was a 1957 Union High School graduate. Outside of being a devoted home maker, one of the many hats she wore was Head Cook for Sullivan High School. At home, Sandra was a devoted Wife, Mother, GG and Sister.
Life sent many twists and turns to her path, she faced each one with grace and dignity. Her smile, dedication and strength was the cornerstone of her family. She attended Sullivan First United Methodist Church, where she was a part of Mary’s Circle, and was a dedicated worker. Sandra enjoyed bowling, bunco, swimming, singing, crocheting, and dining out. She also enjoyed being part of Sullivan Clown Ministry, and Sullivan Hoot Owls Camping Club.
Family was truly Sandra’s heart and soul, her legacy is one of strength, and a deep love that she showered on each and every child, grandchild and great grandchild. Her memory will be a daily strength to those who had the privilege to be loved by her.
She was reunited at Heavens gate with her parents, first husband, Randolph Smallwood, second husband, Terrence McKinley; brothers, Bob Ammerman, Fenton Sanders and William Sanders; granddaughter, Rhiannon Dye and great-grandchildren, Emmett and Emma McCann.
Leaving behind her loving children, Julie McCann (Michael), Stephanie Dye (Ted), Jill Huff ( Bert Utterback); siblings, Lex Sanders (Arlene), Debra Drake (Rodney) and Wanda Silcott (Chris); grandchildren, Allison Grimes, Ethan McCann, Rachael McCann Porter, Stephanie Schoen, Levi McCann, Ted Dye and Janalyn Hoops; great-grandchildren, Lana McCann, Callen Grimes, Audrey Grimes, Everett Schoen, Penelope Hoops and Walker Schoen. Her beloved four legged grand-dog, June Carter Cash McCann. Along with several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
The family invites you to join in celebrating Sandra’s life on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 2:00 pm. at Johnson Cemetery in Graysville, IN. Pastor David Lisman will officiate.
The family respectfully requests that that in lieu of flowers , donations be made to the Brown Baggers lunch program.
