Sandra "Sandy" Thompson

Sandra “Sandy” Hiatt Thompson, formerly of Sullivan, passed from this earthly life on Thursday, January 8, 2026 surrounded by those she loved. She began her life journey on September 9,1944 in Sullivan, the daughter of the late John Hiatt and Mary Maxine Cox Hiatt. She was a graduate of Sullivan High School and shared her talent of cooking in the healthcare industry.

Sandy attended Merom Methodist Church, loved cooking for her family, where many memories were made around her table. She enjoyed playing volleyball in her younger days. She never met a stranger, her warm smile and inviting personality were always evident to all she met. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to her friends and family. Sandy was loved deeply, her passing will leave an unfillable void in the family circle.

She is preceded by her parents, and husband, Bruce Thompson.

Those here to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lori McGriff, Lynn Murphy, Lisa Lienhoop and Leslie Johnson; siblings, John Cecil Hiatt and Linda Garza; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, along with extended family and friends.

Services to celebrate a well lived life will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with visitation from 11:00 am. until time of service at 1:00 pm. Pastor Erich Blevins will be officiating. Burial will follow at Merom Cemetery.
