Sandra Shake

Sandra K. Shake, 81 of Sullivan, went to her Heavenly Father, on Thursday January 18, 2024 at The Waters of Sullivan surrounded by her adoring family. Sandra was born on April 28, 1942 to Earle and Mary Fortino Taylor in Elkhart IN. She was a graduate of Sullivan High School class of 1960. Sandra was united in marriage to her true love, Garry Shake on May 21, 1960. From their  union they were blessed to lovingly raise 4 children. Sandra unconditionally loved and cared for her family. She was a dedicated employee for Kroger grocers, in various locations 30 plus years, before retiring. She was a fantastic cook, Italian dishes were her specialty . She also enjoyed gardening, canning , playing cards, reading and sewing in her spare time. She had a love for traveling, Sandra and Garry wintered in Texas and Florida where she enjoyed the endless card games with friends.  She especially enjoyed  New York on Broadway, seeing Mama Mia was a definite highlight for her.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Garry Shake, her adoring children, Rick Shake (Harriet), Lisa Sluder (Neal), Ron (#1) Shake (Paige) and Tracey Tate (Rick); grandchildren, Kimberly Shake, Kyle Shake, Tyler Bohannon, Taylor Shake, Jon Sluder, Jackson Shake, Carter Tate, Parker Tate along with her beloved great-grandchildren.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 11:00 am. to 12:45 pm. at Holmes Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will take place following visitation at St Marys Catholic Church of Sullivan at 1:00pm. with Father Suresh Bakka officiating. Burial will follow at Center Ridge Cemetery.
