Sarah I. Todd Henry, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on April 4, 2026. Born on May 29,1938, in Vincennes, Indiana, Sarah spent a lifetime devoted to her family and community, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness that will be cherished forever.
Sarah was a graduate of Vincennes Lincoln High School and went on to build a career in Hospitality Management, later serving with the Sullivan County Health Department.
Her family was the very heart of Sarah’s life. Known for her very loving nature, she poured her soul into loving her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. To Sarah, her family was her proudest accomplishment, a life she built with care and devotion.
Sarah’s warmth extended beyond her family. She was always ready with a smile or a helping hand. Among the memories cherished by her family are her scrumptious pies, famous for their wonderfully flaky crust — a simple comfort that spoke volumes about the love she poured into every occasion.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Oma Todd; siblings, Frank Todd, Robert Todd, Ruthie Todd, Roscoe Todd, Jean Lynch; along with grandson, Nicholas Kays.
She is survived by her children, Kim Kays Shelton (Marshall) and Kenny Kays (Penny); her siblings, Frankie Fraker, Joe Todd, Donna Evans, Dottie Shappard (Joe), and Paul Todd; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Erica Robbins (Sean), Brock Emmons (Heather), Aaron Emmons (Lindsay), Justin Emmons (Brittannie), Summer Kays (Tyler), Emily Kays (Jacob). Sarah was also a loving great-grandmother to Luke (CJ), Brant and Braya Robbins, Dominic, Eli, and Maddi Nowicki, Taylor Taylor (Ben), Tyler Emmons (Klaire), Bryson, Brody, and Taelon Emmons, and her great-great-grandchildren, Hank, Stella and Banx Kole.
There will be a service to celebrate a life well-lived, at a later date to be announced.
