Shelby Gail Harmon Hammer slipped peacefully into eternal rest, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Glenburn Home. She began her life journey on January 7,1937 in Prairie Creek, Indiana . The daughter of the late, Zernie and Esta Hunt Harmon. Gail was a 1954 graduate of Sullivan High School. She retired from many dedicated years as office manager for Hagen Manufacturing. Her husband, Norman Hammer preceded her in 2020.

Gail was a Polio survivor as a child, after many years of steadfast endurance she was victorious over the disease. Gail was an avid reader, reading everything from mysteries, romance novels and westerns to name a few. She especially enjoyed a girls weekend, shopping at the antique shops, collecting ceramic banks. Her bubbly personality and bright smile were always welcoming to those around her, stranger or friend. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Sister and Grandma Gail. Her family and close friends were the center of her world.

Preceding her are her parents, her husband Norman, along with siblings, Dennis Harmon, Thomas Harmon and Marica Gay Kennett.

Those here to cherish her memory are her children, Ronald Miller (Debbie), Michael Miller, and step-son, Mark Hammer (Janette) , step-daughters, Judith Smith and Joyce Warfield ; sister, LeAnne Huls (Darryl) ; grandchildren, Micalah Gibson (Chris), Danielle Miller (John), Nicole Hennecke (Mitch) and Jacob Hammer (Mariah) along with extended family and friends.

The family will celebrate a life well lived at Holmes Memorial Chapel, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 11:00 am. until 1:00 pm.

Burial will be at a later date.
