Shirley Rose Jennings Sluder, 96, a long time resident of Shelburn, passed on to join those awaiting her Heavenly arrival, on June 13, 2026. She began her life journey on April 11, 1930 in Shelburn, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Janey Santus Mayes. Shirley was employed with Perfection Packaging Company and Frances Phillips 5-10 cent Dime Store, in Shelburn, for numerous years.

Shirley was a devout Christian that faithfully attended Shelburn Church of God all of her life. Her daily life reflected her strong faith and devotion to God. She married her first husband , Gerald W. Jennings and he preceded her in 1978. Her second husband, Joe Amos Sluder who preceded her in 2014.

She was warmly welcomed at the Pearly Gates by her parents; her husbands, Gerald Jennings and Joe Sluder; siblings, Barbara Myers and Myrna Moses along with her step daughter, Rita Sluder.

Those here to cherish her loving memory are her son, Stephen Wayne Jennings (Donna); grandchild, Brian Jennings (Ashley), great-grandchildren, Drew Jennings and Brady Jennings; brother, Harold E. Mayes, step children, Debbie Tennyson (Jerry), Doug Sluder (Debbie), Mike Sluder (Jenny), along with several step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A celebration of her home going will be on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Shelburn Church of God with visitation from 11:00 until service at 1:00pm. with Pastor Rich Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery.
