Sullivan

Sullivan,

Stacey Allen Stanley, 56 of Sullivan, took his contagious smile to Heaven on January 7, 2024. Stacey was born on September 26, 1967 to Ronald (Ron) Stanley and Starr (Phegely) Kinnett. He was a 1986 graduate of Sullivan High School.  On August 13, 1988, he married the love of his life, Pamela Snapp Stanley and was her loving and devoted caretaker during her extended illness, until her passing in 2022. He was currently employed with Sunrise Coal, and was proud to be a hardworking  member of the coal mining family.

As a child growing up he spent endless hours with his Dad at his grandfather’s tire shop “Harrys Tire” where he developed a love of “tinkering” with things, whether it be a car, lawn mower, truck or anything that ran. He and his Dad could repair anything and they enjoyed the hours they spent together. He always held his memories close, of farming with his Grandpa Phegley, learning to drive the tractor and farm trucks at an early age. Stacey was a deeply devoted  family man with his family always coming first.  He will be lovingly remembered for his goofy larger than life personality, he shared  his radiant smile with everyone and always left  those around him smiling.  His love for his family knew no bounds. He was a true caretaker, if you were his family or friend, he would take care of whatever need you had, thru thick and thin he was there.  His grandchildren were lovingly doted on and were the light of his life.  He enjoyed watching the Colts play, watching Nascar and yearly attending the Indy 500 with his grandson Jace.  Plain and simple, Stacey LOVED life and he loved sharing his life with those he loved.

He was preceded by his Father and best friend, Ron Stanley.

He is survived by his Mother, Starr Kinnett and bonus Mother, Bonnie Stanley; son, Kelly Kirk (Amanda Corbett); daughters, Jennifer Kinnett (Jared Earley) and Kirstie Stantz ( Garrett); sisters, Marcey Swan (Rick), Julie Swiger and Kristal McKee; grandchildren, Ava and Ella Tyson, Jace and Marley Kinnett, Vayda and Lydia Stanley, Vydalia and Wade Stantz. Along with a host of extended family, friends and co -workers that he adored.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Carlisle Christian Church, Carlisle IN from 10:00 am. until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Pastor Bill Sam Phegley will be officiating. Stacey will be laid to rest following services with his wife at Oaktown Cemetery.
