Sullivan, IN Susan Lynn Bolyard, 52, passed away April 20, 2015 surrounded by her family after a brave eight-month battle with cancer that she faced with grace and an unwavering faith. She was born January 21, 1963 to Ronald and Ann Shorter in Sullivan, IN. Susan graduated as Valedictorian from Sullivan High School and earned her degree in Business Administration from St. Mary of the Woods College. She later went on to earn her Professional in Human Resources degree. Susan worked for over 29 years at WIN Energy REMC finishing her career as the Director of Finance and Administration. Susan's professional accomplishments were achieved all while raising a family with her impeccable style and infinite love. She was a pillar in the community, known for her work ethic, generosity, and kindness. There was nothing Susan could not do, but she was most proud of the family she dedicated her life to. Susan in survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 36 years, Blaine. She is also survived by her parents, daughter Dr. Suzanne Bolyard Allmand (Zak) and their children Lillianne and Layne, daughter Dr. Victoria Bolyard, brothers Stephen Shorter (Alys), John Shorter (Cami), sister Beth Drake (Michael), mother in law Linda Bolyard, father-in-law, William Bolyard, seven nieces, five nephews, and many other close family and friends. Susan was preceded in death by her grandparents Lotus Hutchison Willis, Lowell "Greasy" Willis, Victor and Esther Shorter, uncle Jerry Shorter, and nephew Casey Drake. A memorial service to honor and celebrate Susan's life will be held Sunday April, 26, 2015, at 1:00pm for family, 1:30pm for general public visitation, and memorial at 3:00pm at the First Christian Church, Sullivan, Indiana, where Susan was a member. The family would be honored if donations were made in her memory to the Lung Cancer Alliance. (www.lungcanceralliance.org) Holmes Memorial Chapel assisted with arrangements.
