Susan Purcell

July 15, 1953 — July 23, 2025

Susan Purcell, a beloved wife and mother, went on to eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 23, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sullivan, Indiana, on July 15,1953, and grew to embrace the beauty of life, faith, and family through her many wonderful years.

A graduate of Sullivan High School, Susan dedicated her life to raising her family and nurturing a warm and welcoming home. For 49 beautiful years, she was married to her adoring husband, Randall Purcell. Together, they created a sanctuary filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.

Susan was truly a remarkable cook, often celebrated for her exceptional meatballs that brought everyone joy around the dinner table. She had a talent for hosting holiday dinners, where her warmth and hospitality made every gathering special. Her kitchen was not just a place for preparing meals; it was where traditions were born, stories were shared, and love was served.

An avid lover of Christ, Susan was a devoted member of Central Baptist Church, where she found solace and community. Her unwavering faith was a guiding light in her life, one that she eagerly shared with family and friends alike.

A passionate animal lover, Susan had a deep affection for her Yorkies Sofie, and Roxie Kayne, who brought her immense joy and companionship throughout her life. She was deeply connected to each of her pets, treating them as family members.

Above all, Susan cherished her role as a grandmother. She played an instrumental part in raising her granddaughter, Aubrey Purcell, pouring love, wisdom, and strength into her upbringing. Her connection to her grandchildren was profound, as she loved each of them dearly, always eager to guide and inspire them.

Susan is survived by her husband, Randall Purcell; her Children, Shawn Purcell (Christina), David Purcell (Cindy), Aaron Purcell (Tammi) and Max Purcell (Haley), and Kalyssa Purcell; as well as 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Together, they will carry on her legacy of love, compassion, and culinary brilliance.

She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Wilma McCammon (Clark), and her brother, Ron Wall. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit and love will continue to resonate within the hearts of those she touched throughout her life.
