Timothy Glen Drake, a longtime resident of Farmersburg, Indiana passed peacefully at the age of 80 on February 3, 2026 at The Waters of Sullivan. Born in Terre Haute on July 21, 1945 to Loren "Jack" and Geraldine Drake, he was a 1963 graduate of North Central High School. He continued his passion for learning at Indiana State University. After earning his degree and teaching credentials, he pursued a career in education teaching math, physical education, and coaching. After 30 plus years, he retired from Shakamak School Corporation. His instruction and knowledge have inspired many students throughout the years.

Timothy was a Freemason and served as Master of the original Farmersburg Lodge #594 as well as various other positions. He received his 50 year acknowledgement in 2023.

He was a member of multiple philanthropic organizations including the Scottish Rites Terre Valley Chapter, Moose International, and the Zorah Shriners. He was also a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association.

During his lifetime he enjoyed all things horse related and spoke fondly of his "soul" horse a beautiful palomino stallion named Golden Boy who was no doubt waiting for him. Probably just as ornery & fiesty as always. Another horse dear to his heart but with a far gentler nature was Diamond. She was his go to horse for his granddaughter Carmen to ride along with numerous nieces and nephews. He enjoyed the thrill of attending auctions, watching his favorite channel Grit TV, having breakfast with "the boys" at Pat's Cafe, preparing the giant cast iron pot of beans at family gatherings, attending concerts at The Mill, and admiring classic cars at Frog Follies. You would find him in front of the TV when his Bears were playing or when the Ohio State football team was on the field. He also enjoyed challenging anyone to a lively debate on variety of topics. Throughout the years he became a source for anything. If someone needed it, Tim either had it or knew where to find it. Just like those possessions his involvement & impact on those he held dear was immense.

He will be remembered for being steadfast in the opinion that family was important. A devoted single Father, doting and loving Grandfather, caring Son, Brother, and Uncle. The love he instilled in his family will be forever remembered.

Preceding his passing are his parents Loren and Geraldine Drake; siblings, Gerald Drake, Sandra (LeRoy) Cooprider, and John Drake; sister-in-law Rita Drake.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughter Rebecca (Joseph) Drake-Iaia; granddaughter Carmen (Sam) Drake; siblings Fred (Diane) Drake, Stanley Drake, Nina (Bruce) Cagle and Jill Drake; several nieces, nephews, and extended family friends. As well as beloved dogs, cats, and horses.

Services to celebrate a life well lived will be at Holmes Memorial Chapel on Sunday February 15th, 2026 with visitation starting at 11:00 until time of service at 1:30 p.m. Family cemetery service will follow immediately at Westlawn.
