Tom Leon Grubb, 64, of St Augustine FL and formerly of Sullivan, passed away on Monday June 30, 2014 at Bailey Family Center for caring in St. Augustine FL. He was born on May 11, 1950 in Newtown IN to Leslie and Josephine (Newman) Grubb. He was a 1968 graduate of Fountain Central High School and a 1970 graduate of Vincennes University; he most recently worked at the Hilton Bay Front, in St. Augustine. Tom brought a person joy and laughter; he cherished the friends that he had made. He loved his children, grandchildren, camping, flying, farming and the ocean where he felt closest to his Lord. Tom was a member of the Sullivan First Christian Church. Preceding him in death are his parents, a daughter Lori Ann Grubb, and a brother Allen Grubb. Surviving are his wife of 40 years Cheryl Ivers Grubb whom he married on September 29, 1973, sons Tommy (Deborah) Grubb of Sullivan, Chad of St. Augustine, a daughter Melissa Grubb of St. Augustine, brothers Jim (Janet) Grubb of St. Augustine, Robert (Angie) Grubb of Newtown IN, sister, Bea (Jerry) Wagoner of Hillsborough IN, grandchildren Alexis, Dominick, Dillon, Dayton, Devon, and several nieces and nephews. Services for Tom will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 7, 2014 at the Sullivan First Christian Church with Revs, Dale Wise, David Cox, and Dave Meding officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday at the Church from 3-8 p.m. Burial will take place at Center Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donation may be made to American Cancer Society. Holmes Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
