Thomas C Harmon, 68, of Sullivan, passed away in his residence on Thursday, September 12, 2013. He was born in Sullivan on July 4, 1945 to Zernie Willard and Esta Mae (Hunt) Harmon. Tom was a 1963 graduate of Oaktown High school, had retired from Amax Coal Company, owner of Harmon Trailer Sales of Sullivan, a member of the Moose, and United Mine Workers of America. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Marcia Gay Kennett. Survivors include his wife of 48 years Diane (Harris) Harmon , a son Jeff Harmon of Sullivan, a daughter Jody (Chris) Hurtubise of Plymouth MI, a brother Dennis (Sharon) Harmon of Sullivan, two sisters Gail (Norman) Hammer of Sullivan, LeAnne (Darryl) Huls of Jasper two grandchildren Jocelyn and Zack Hurtubise. Services for Tom will be 11:00 a.m. at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan on Monday, September 16, 2013 with Rev. Norman Santus officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Center Ridge Cemetery. The family suggests that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Sullivan Co. Horseman Association, envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
