Ursula Erika Avellina, 74, of Sullivan passed away on Monday January 18, 2016 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on May 30, 1941 in Zeil A Main Germany to Eric Gratzsch and Hilda Schorch Gratzsch. She was a wife, mother, grandmother a member of the Sullivan American Legion Auxiliary and loved to play bingo. Preceding her in death are her parents and brother Manfred Schorch from Germany

Survivors include her husband of 56 years Salvatore "Sonny" Avellina, her daughters Heidi Avellina and her companion Joe McGregor of Sullivan, Debra (Timothy) Shockley of Sullivan two grandchildren Melissa ( Mike) Shacklee of KY, Anthony Derengowski of FL, And three great grandchildren, a brother Jochim Gratzsch of Germany sisters Brigette Kingery of IL, Christa Webb, Inga Bolt both of Germany .

Services for Ursula will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday January 23, 2016 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Chris Gadberry officiating. Visitation will be on Friday 4-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery. The family suggest that if friends so desire memorial contribution may be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
