Verna Marlene Lewis, 81, of Vandalia IL, formerly of Mooresville IN passed away on Wednesday August 20, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield IL. She was born in Fayette County IL on August 8, 1933 to Albert and Dora (Zimmers) Abendroth. She was a homemaker, a member of Eternal Life Baptist Church in Mooresville and married to Floyd Lewis who preceded her in death along with a son Rodney Lewis, and a daughter Lisa Lewis. Survivors include her sons Randy and his wife Jill Lewis of Farmersburg, Ronald Lewis of VA, daughters Lila Maddox and her companion Vern Perdew of Plainfield, Linda Moore of Indianapolis, a sister Mary Ellen Kilzer of Brownstown IL, eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. Services for Marlene will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday August 25, 2014 at Eternal Life Baptist Church in Mooresville IN. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will take place at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville. Services have been entrusted to Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan.
