Verne E Davis

Verne E Davis, 84 of Shelburn, Indiana passed away on July 23, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones at her residence.

She was born and raised in Springfield, MA to Herbert and Verne (Seidel) Herring on June 27, 1940.

She was a former employee of Sullivan Daily Times and Columbia Records where she later became known as the family baby-sitter. She enjoyed car shows, gardening, scrapbooking, canning, bowling, quilting and card making. She was a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ronnie Herring, Jackie Herring, Herbie Herring, and sister Debbie Drapear, a special sister in law Eva Meyers, and nephew Ronald Lowery.

She leaves behind her husband Loren Davis whom she married May 28, 1960. She is the mother of Harriet (Rick) Shake and Barb Roseberry. Grandchildren Kimberly Shake, Kyle Shake, Alexis (Jarett) Simoneaux and Kayla Harris. Great grandchildren Brylee, Londyn, Kyden, Kooper, Kutler, Teigen, Aubrey, Kayson, and Myla. A special niece Dee-Dee Daves along with several other nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday July 27, 2024. Visitation will be at Holmes Memorial Chapel from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM with Service to begin at 12:00 PM at the St. Marys Catholic Church. Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery.
