Virginia Lee Followell, 95, of Sullivan passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on February 16, 1920, in Vigo County, to John Edgar Reid and Edlee (Thomas) Reid Shoemaker. She was a 1938 graduate of Prairie Creek High School, became a homemaker who loved her children and grandchildren and was a member of the Shelburn First Baptist Church. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Hugh Lester Followell, a daughter Judith Lee Wilson, and a sister Jarnell Bailey. Survivors include daughters Emma (Kevin) Brunger of Fairbanks, IN., and Patricia (Joseph)Averill of Indianapolis, sons Ivan Gene (Sheila) Wilson of Eatonville, WA., and Aaron Thomas (Heidi) Wilson of Silverdale, WA., 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, March 20, 2015 at Holmes Memorial Chapel from 11:00-1:00pm. Services will follow with Rev. Ben Wetherington officiating. Interment will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Prairie Creek, IN.
