Virginia (Ginny) Lee Medsker

Virginia (Solsman) Medsker, 85, passed away on March 31, 2025, at The Waters in Sullivan, Indiana. She was born February 16, 1940 to Robert and Rose (McGinnis) Solsman of Carlisle. She married Shan Medsker on Valentine's Day February 14, 1959.

Ginny was a 1958 Graduate of Carlisle High School. She worked at the Rex Russell Insurance agency until shortly after her marriage. She next moved into a new role of full-time housewife, mother and bookkeeper for the family farm in Graysville. Several years later, Ginny and Shan formed S.D.M. Inc, an Excavation Company. She was a dedicated member of Kingsley Memorial United Methodist Church for over 60 years where Ginny enjoyed teaching a Preschool Sunday School Class and playing the piano for the youth. As a young lady, Ginny enjoyed giving baton twirling lessons, baking, sewing and social gatherings. In her later years, Ginny's interests expanded to flower and vegetable gardening, reading and working crossword puzzles. Ginny loved eating out at restaurants. She was known for her baking skills and shared many delicious pies and chocolate chip cookies throughout the community. Ginny will be remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother, and neighbor.

Preceding Ginny in death was her husband of over 60 years and her parents.

Survivors include her children; daughter Tamar (Rob) Regan, San Antonio, TX; Amy (Bert) Tryon, Graysville, IN; and son Kyle (Chris) Medsker, Raleigh, NC. Grandchildren; Chase Regan, NicoleRegan, Grant (Becky) Tryon, Chris Tryon, Emily Medsker. Great grandchild; Abigail Tryon. Special Cousin; Susan Pierson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, with services immediately following at Holmes Memorial Chapel. Pastor Jeff Fulk will officiate. Private burial will be at Mann-Turman Cemetery in Graysville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Brown Baggers of Sullivan County or the Sullivan County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
