Walter Burns

Sullivan, Walter Burns, 86, of Sullivan passed away on May 9,2015 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Shelburn on March 26, 1929 to Howard and Caroline Deal Burns. He was a 1947 graduate of Sullivan High School and had retired from the Sullivan County Housing Authority. Preceding him in death was his parents, a son Walter Bums II, a brothers Delbert Burns, Howard Bums, a sister Opal Elliott and a grandchild Andrew Jullian. Survivors include his wife of 49 years Katherine Wilson Burns of Sullivan, two daughters Janice (Thomas) Lobdell of Greenwood, Diane (Herb) Derado of Avon IN; a brother Ronald Burns, of Brown County IN; two sisters Kathleen Tarrh ofMilfred OH, Glenda Pugh ofFL, several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services for Walter will be held on Friday May 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Center Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Norman Santus officiating. Holmes Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
