William Wayne Knotts

Sullivan, IN. William Wayne Knotts, 88, of Sullivan passed away at 6:22pm, June 22, 2014 in the Sullivan Community Hospital. He was born October 5, 1925 in Carlisle, IN. to Henry Herbert Knotts and Hazel Gobin Knotts. Survivors include his wife Virginia Lisman Knotts, daughter Debbie Phegley, son Brett Knotts (Dee), sisters Mary Hume and Kathrin Prose, grand-children Marcy Bell (Ryan), Melissa Stearley (Nathan) and Cole Knotts, great-grandchildren Callie, Lyndee and Penelope Stearley. Preceding him in death was his parents and a great grand-daughter Mya Stearley. William was a navy veteran from World War II, a member of the Sullivan American Legion, Sullivan Elks, and the National Active and Retired Federal Employees. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 25th from 4:00.pm until 8:00pm and from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am on Thursday, June 26th at Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Carlisle. Military rites will be provided by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legions, and the Sullivan Co. VFW.
