Wilma Lou (Roberts) Mckain

Wilma Lou McKain age: 87, Went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2024. She was born November 24, 1937. In Sullivan County to Leonard Elijah Roberts and Dorothy Lambeth Roberts. She married Kenneth L. McKain on December 14, 1953, in Robinson Illinois. They were blessed with four sons: Bruce Allen McKain and Karola of Elizabeth, KV

Charles Ray McKain and Petra of Indian Mound, TN, Dale Edward McKain and Lori of Carlisle, IN Robbie Lynn McKain of Indian Mound, TN.

She worked alongside her husband on the family farm for two years. While raising her family they moved to Morgan County, IN, where she worked for Eugene Settles for six seasons picking and selling farm produce. Her career covered being a Housewife, Mother, Grandmother, & L.P.N. She was also a member of Shelburn United Methodist Church and then later Shaker Prairie Christian Church of Oaktown, IN. She served for 20 years as an Adult Leader for Mini, Regular & As a sponsor for the Jr. Leader 4-H Clubs in Morgan County, IN. She was a qualified judge in several projects. She was chosen by a Sunshine Girl at Mooresville High School to be her Ideal Lady. Went back to school and graduated in 1971 from Day Adult High School in Indianapolis, IN with honors. After her family was raised, in 1984 she decided to continue her education. She attended Ivy Tech College in Indianapolis, IN and received a degree of Licensed Practical Nurse in 1985. She worked as a LPN at a Nursing Home in Plainfield, IN as a second shift Supervisor. She also worked as an LPN at a Nursing Home in Indianapolis in the same position.

She is survived by her sons, their spouses, & grandchildren. 24 Grandchildren: Anja &( Darrell) Sherrard, Karoline &(Jason) Meadows, Kenneth McKain, Joshua McKain, Eva & (Jeremy) Behrns, Chuckie & (Joyce) McKain, LouAnne McKain, Megan Wiles, Kody Wiles, Erika &(Tristan) Noel, Michael &(Alisha) McKain, Dorothy McKain &Affianced Jacob Smith, Sila& (Michael) Kim, Chun Pang, Malaci &(Miki) McKain. 24 Great Grandchildren: Victoria Conrad, Alesha, Tristan, Sebastian Meadows, Faith McKain, Austin &(Erin) McKain, Charlie Sullivan, Mason &(Madison) McKain, Hailey Boyer, Leland "Little Joe" Wiles, Clayton Ray &Rylee Ann, Adalyann, John Noel , Billi Kay Wiles, Odessa & Amelia Padgett, Michael LeVerne & Isabella ReaLe McKain, Noah &Allison Kim, Kalnia McKain, 2 Great-Great Children Ezra Maberry & Teagan McKain, Two Brothers-Jerry &(Lillie) Roberts, Robert &(Cathy) Roberts, a Sister Judy &(Bill Sam) Phegley. A brother-in-law Pete Pitts and a sister-in-law Carol Roberts and several nieces, nephews, cousins & dear friends

Friends and family may pay their respects at Holmes Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Pastors, Steve Sandefur and Julie Puttmann officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Carlisle IN.
