Obituary
Alice Hardesty, 67, of Dugger, passed away at Regional Hospital on Thursday, March 23, 2023. She was born in Sullivan county on August 19, 1955 to Robert Ellis and Cora (Ransford) Ellis. Alice was a graduate of Dugger High School and became a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Taking care of her family became her life’s work. There was no greater responsibility for her than raising her children. She was happy maintaining her home with her husband by her side.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years Dorman Hardesty, whom she married on July 22, 1972, daughters Jana (Tony) Rent, Summer (Vertis) Bonham, brothers Brad Ellis, Bruce (Debbie) Ellis, a sister Reva (Scott) Gambill, grandchildren Paige Rent, Mary Rent, Tess Rent, Wade Bonham, Ellie Bonham, several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 29, 2023 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with pastor Doug Cassel officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Hickory Cemetery south of Dugger.
