Andrew “Andy” Wayne Irwin, 45, of Sullivan, ran into the arms of Jesus on May 10, 2023. He was born in Sullivan County on May 7, 1978. Andy was a 1996 graduate of Sullivan High School and became a dedicated, outstanding lineman for Duke Energy, Win Energy, he was currently a General Foreman for ARC American, he did multiple hurricane restorations disasters, his first one being Hurricane Katrina, he spent a year in California doing wildfire restorations, he was a proud IBEW # 1393 union member, a union steward, he sat on many safety committees, took part in many lineman rodeos, he was a lead instructor for Duke Energy apprentice line school’s and he was a proud American. He was involved in many non for profit organizations. Andy was a dedicated husband and father. He was a family man whose life revolved around his family. He enjoyed taking his mini me/little best friend, Kingli Drew all over on various trips. He was an outstanding uncle, a friend to all he met, a role model for all that were blessed to know him. He was known for his sarcasm and sense of humor . Andy enjoyed yard work, fishing, decorating with lights like Clark Griswold at Christmas time and tinkering in his barn. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Proceeding him in death by grandmother, Gracie Irwin, aunt ,Cindy Britt, uncle, Ricky Irwin and father in law Wally King.
Survivors include his love of his life, wife Kristi King Irwin whom he married on July 8, 2000, his daughters, Izabella Jean Gracie Irwin and Kingli Drew Irwin, his mother Pam Irwin, siblings Cory (Carrie) Irwin, Makisha (Jeremy) Pesch, mother & father in law Jerry & Debbie Tennyson, sister in law Katie (Travis) Weber, nieces Callie Irwin and Sydni Weber, Nephews, Corbyn Irwin, Willie Irwin Dalton Irwin, Damon Irwin, Levi Southwood and Austin Southwood.
Services will be Tuesday May 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shelburn First Baptist Church with Pastor David Cox officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 4-8:00 p.m. at Shelburn Baptist Church. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery. Holmes Memorial Chapel were entrusted with arrangements. The family ask that in lieu of flowers if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to The Wabash Valley Community Foundation Andy Irwin Scholarship, envelopes will be available at visitation or can mailed to:
