Anna Corrine Irwin, 89, of Terre Haute, formerly of Shelburn, passed away at The Gibson Family Center of Hospice. She was born on February 24, 1934, to William Herr and Dessie Marie (Jewell) Herr. She attended Farmersburg High School and had married William Duane “Bill” Irwin and started her family. They had been married for over 54 years. Anna had been employed by the North East School Corporation for over 26 years, working at Shelburn School as a cook custodian and aid. She attended the Bethel Methodist Church, a member of the Hymera Community Church and the Gospel Light Baptist Church. Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband Bill, sisters Velma Melbourne and Kathryn Drake.
Surviving are a daughter Karen (Keith) Mason, sons, Brian (Terri) Irwin, Bill (Penny) Irwin, Ron (Roberta) Irwin, grandchildren, Conner Irwin, Cory Irwin, Lance (Sarah) Irwin, Corbin (Dakota) Fretz, Amber Mesaeh, Kayla (Alex Hatfield) Irwin, Billy Irwin, great grandchildren, Porter Irwin, Nora Irwin, Eila Fretz, Kayden Mesaeh, Kaylyn Mesaeh, Kaycee Mesaeh, Abigail Duran, Lucas Hatfield, several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 4, 2023, at Holmes Memorial Chapel with pastors Tom Manbeck and Jordan Stockrham officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery.
