Anna Mae Schenck

December 29, 1936 — December 25, 2020

Anna Mae Gilham-Johnson-Schenck of Dugger, IN, passed away on December 25, 2020 at Rawlins House Nursing Home in Pendleton, Indiana after a long illness.  She was a life-long resident of Muncie, Indiana, until she moved to Fall Creek Retirement Home in Pendleton, Indiana to be closer to her daughter.

Anna Mae was born on December 29, 1936 in Sullivan County to the late Homer and Lela (Brewer) Gilham.

Anna Mae graduated from Dugger High School in 1954.  She retired from Muncie Community Schools after 27 years of service.  She was a member of the Riverside Methodist Church in Muncie and a member of Moose Lodge 33 in Muncie.

Anna Mae is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Johnson and Charles E. Schenck.  Her four brothers: Rene, Amos, Henry and Everett and sisters: Chloe Webster and Barbara  “Phoebe” Crooks.

Survivors include her daughters, Patty (Danny) Bowen of Pendleton, IN, and Sandy (Dean) Snyder of Logansport, IN.  One sister, Betty Blann of Sullivan, IN.  Four grandchildren, Brandon Bowen of Durham, N.C., Grant Bowen of Chicago, IL, Joshua Hedge of Oregon and Christina Hedge of Oregon.  One great grandson, Michael Bowen of Durham, NC, and several nieces and nephews.  Also, her special dear friends for the last 50 years, Rodger and Susie Popplewell.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan, Indiana.  The family will be having a private graveside service for family only, with Dean Snyder officiating.
