Aris Houser, 80, of Shelburn passed away on September 6, 2020 at Southwood Healthcare. He was born in Sullivan County on March 8, 1940 to Ira Houser and Myrtle Mae (Melvin) Houser-Bailey. Aris was an Army Veteran and had served in the Vietnam War; he was a member of the American Legion and the 1st Baptist Church in Shelburn. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edith Ann (Carson) Houser, brothers Ira “Dutch” Houser, Frankie Bailey, sisters Minnie Sinders, Velsa Chambers, Mary Bennett, Dorothy Lucas and Arrowana “Sis” Houser
Survivors include his sons Gene (Lisa) Houser of Williston Fl, Bruce (Crystal) Houser of Morriston Fl, Kenny (Trish) Houser of Ocala Fl, brothers Holly “Babe” Houser of Shelburn, Venus “Biggie” Houser of Shelburn, a sister Shirley Wise of Sullivan, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other family and several friends.
Grave side services will be held on Saturday September 12, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at Little Flock Cemetery with Rev. Norman Santus officiating. Military honors will be given by the Sullivan County Honor Guard. Holmes Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
