Arthur Leon Langston

Arthur “Leon” Langston, 83,  of Oaktown passed away on Tuesday September 15, 2020 at OakVillage Nursing Home.  He was born in St. Elmo IL, on September 16, 1936 to Carroll Spencer Langston and Imo Ruth (Pittman) Langston. Leon was a graduate of Cisne High School in Cisne IL,  and  Lincoln Christian University formerly Lincoln Bible Institute  in Lincoln IL., He became a minister and had preached in Indiana, Illinois, Florida, California, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Minnesota and Tennessee.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Helen Hamilton.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years Mary Ann (Bowen) Langston,   whom he married on June 6, 1956,a daughter Bethany Jarvis of Noble IL,  a son Kirk (Rebecca)  Langston of West Plaines MO., , grandchildren Sarah Wibbenmeyer, Nathan Delks, Caleb Delks, Faith Delks, Hannah Lepper, Emily Langston, Cobi Langston, Alannah Honeycutt, Megan Carmichel, Peytan  Bassett and several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services  to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 a.m.  CDT. at the the grave site on Tuesday September 22, 2020 at Marion Christian Church in West Salem IL., with Pastor Robert Hentrick officiating.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:30 am CDT. until the time of services.   The family suggest using google maps for directions.   the church is off of route 130.  The family suggest that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the: Lincoln Christian University,  100 Campus View Drive, Lincoln IL., 62656 or Johnson University 7900 Johnson Dr. Knoxville TN., 37998
