Betty Jane (Smith) Arnett, 98, of Merom Station IN, passed away on Tuesday September 6, 2022, at Sullivan County Community Hospital. Betty was born in Decker IN, on October 21, 1923, to Walter Edgar Smith and Olive Bernice (Hawkins) Smith. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. She had worked at Gossards and North American Latex. Her favorite activities were spending time with her family while camping and going shopping with her daughter in-law and granddaughter especially after Thanksgiving day. She enjoyed playing card games with her friends and family
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Harold Junior Arnett, brothers and sister in-laws John (Lucile) Smith, Harold (Madge) Smith, sisters and brother in-laws, Olive (Claude) Daugherty, Gladys (Harold) Roseberry, Alma (George) Land, Marjorie (Eldon) Wells, Melba (Robert) Anderson, a daughter in-law Deanna Arnett and a grandson Zac Arnett.
Survivors include her sons, Dale and Mike Arnett, grandchildren, Mike Arnett, and Heidi Holsclaw, great grandchildren, Maddox, Alex, and Nixon Holsclaw, several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday September 9, 2022 at Merom Cemetery with Pastor Eric Blevins officiating. The family suggest that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude, Special Olympics or Sullivan County Humane Shelter. Envelopes will be available at the grave side service.
