Elizabeth A “Betty” Lengacher, 76, of Sullivan passed away on Thursday October 15, 2020 at home with her family by her side. She was born in Martin County to Curtis Elsey and Dora E (Guire) Elsey on May 29, 1944. She was raised by Doris, Irene and John Slabaugh. She was a 1962 graduate of Barre-Reve High School, was a member of Crossroads Community Church, a volunteer for the Sullivan County 4-H and a founding board member for Sullivan County Cares. Betty retired from the Sullivan County Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents and her foster parents, her husband Willis “Bunny” Lengacher, in 2016, brothers Charles Elsey, Clarence Elsey, Lester Elsey, sisters Marilyn Sue Elsey, and Carolyn Ruth Elsey.
Survivors include her daughters Dee (Pat) Fulford of Sullivan, Teresa (Tim) Wilson of Sullivan, a brother Walter “Bud” Elsey, grandchildren Elizabeth (Nathan) Wible, Britney Riggs, Kyle Wilson, Logan Fulford, Samantha Fulford, great grandchildren Madilyn Wible, Carter Wible, Abbigail Wible, Olivia Wooldridge, Jamison Shorter, and special sister Linda Powell.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday October 19, 2020 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Edie Hammond officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery. The family suggest that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to Sullivan County Cares, 621 E Silver St. Sullivan IN. 47882.
