Betty Ruth West left this earth at 8:52 p.m., July 8, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor with Bethanne by her side.
She was born in Hymera to Mary Dutton Frazier and Pleasant Frazier on November 20, 1931. She was a retired waitress of 30 years at the former Gill’s Truck Stop. Later, she became a private caregiver.
She was the Valedictorian for her graduating class of 1949. She lived for basketball, bingo and yahtzee. She was a devout Christian and loving mother and grandmother figure to her nephews and to Bethanne.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Woody West, parents, her nephews Tiny and Terry Burger, her brothers Raymond and Roy Burger. Survivors include niece Bethanne Burger, great nephews Jason Burger and family of Escondido, CA., Ben Burger, Xavion & Taylor of Farmersburg, and Raymond Burger and family of Farmersburg.
She was a member of Shelburn Church of God before moving to Miller’s. Betty had chosen cremation, assisted by Holmes Chapel. Graveside rites at a later date.
