Carolyn Stockdell Obituary

Carolyn Stockdell, 83, formerly of Hymera, passed away on December 24, 2021 at St. Dominic Village in Houston, Texas. She was born in New Albany, Indiana on March 18, 1938 to Irvin Fleischer and Dorothy (Shaklett) Fleischer.  

Carolyn moved to Hymera, Indiana in 1972 to help her husband manage Mattox McHugh Funeral Home.  In her younger days, she was an avid bowler.  She enjoyed playing the piano, watching IU basketball, Colt’s football and became a Houston Astros fan once she moved to Houston, Texas in September 2015.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, David W. Stockdell.  

Carolyn is survived by her sister, Judy Boyer, three children, Duane (Penny) Stockdell, Debbie Miller, and Dean (Trisha) Stockdell, grandchildren, Andy (Nikki) Stockdell, Jenny (Kenny) Farley, Dara Stockdell, Ethan Stockdell, Lauren Miller, and great grandchildren, Noah Stockdell, Tenley Stockdell, Kenneth Farley III, Issac Farley, and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Carolyn will be Monday January 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.at Holmes Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00p.m.  Burial will be at Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn, Indiana.
